We also inform you below about the third-party components used by us for optimization purposes and to enhance user experience, insofar as these result in third parties processing data under their own responsibility.

Our privacy policy is structured as follows:

I. Information about us as the Data Controller II. Rights of Users and Affected Individuals III. Information on Data Processing

III. Information on Data Processing

Your data processed during the use of our online presence will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage ceases, no statutory retention obligations stand in the way of deletion, and no other statements are made regarding individual processing procedures.

Server Data

For technical reasons, in particular to ensure a secure and stable online presence, data is transmitted by your internet browser to us or to our web space provider. These so-called server log files collect data such as the type and version of your internet browser, the operating system, the website from which you accessed our online presence (referrer URL), the website(s) of our online presence that you visit, the date and time of the respective access, and the IP address of the internet connection from which the use of our online presence is made.

These collected data are temporarily stored but not combined with other data from you.

This storage is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving, stabilizing, functioning, and securing our online presence.

The data will be deleted no later than seven days after the storage, unless further retention is required for evidentiary purposes. Otherwise, the data will be partially or entirely exempted from deletion until the final clarification of an incident.

Cookies

a) Session Cookies

We use so-called cookies with our online presence. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies that are placed and stored on your device by the internet browser you use. Through these cookies, specific information from you, such as your browser or location data or your IP address, is processed.

This processing makes our online presence more user-friendly, effective, and secure, as it enables, for example, the display of our online presence in different languages or the offering of a shopping cart function.

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, provided these cookies process data for contract initiation or contract performance.

If the processing does not serve contract initiation or contract performance, our legitimate interest lies in improving the functionality of our online presence. The legal basis is then Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

These session cookies are deleted when you close your internet browser.

b) Third-Party Cookies

Occasionally, cookies from partner companies we collaborate with for advertising, analysis, or functionality purposes of our online presence may also be used.

Details regarding the purposes and legal bases for processing such third-party cookies can be found in the following information.

c) Removal Options

You can prevent or restrict the installation of cookies by adjusting your internet browser settings. You can also delete already stored cookies at any time. The necessary steps and measures depend on the specific internet browser you use. For questions, please use the help function or documentation of your internet browser or contact its manufacturer or support. However, for so-called Flash cookies, the processing cannot be prevented through browser settings. Instead, you must change the settings of your Flash Player. The necessary steps and measures also depend on the specific Flash Player you use. For questions, please also use the help function or documentation of your Flash Player or contact its manufacturer or user support.

Please note that if you prevent or restrict the installation of cookies, this may result in some features of our online presence not being fully usable.

Contract Processing

The data you provide to use our goods and/or services will be processed by us for the purpose of contract fulfillment and is necessary for this. Contract conclusion and contract execution are not possible without providing your data.

The legal basis for processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

We will delete the data upon complete fulfillment of the contract, but must observe tax and commercial retention periods.

In the context of contract execution, we will pass on your data to the transport company commissioned with the delivery of goods or to the financial service provider, as far as the transfer is necessary for the delivery of goods or payment purposes.

The legal basis for the transfer of data is then Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Customer Account / Registration Function

If you create a customer account with us through our online presence, we will collect and store the data you provide during registration (e.g., your name, address, or email address) solely for pre-contractual services, for contract fulfillment, or for customer care purposes (e.g., to provide you with an overview of your previous orders with us or to offer you the so-called wish list function). At the same time, we will store the IP address and the date and time of your registration. This data will not be passed on to third parties.

During the further registration process, your consent to this processing will be obtained, and reference will be made to this privacy policy. The data collected in this context will be used exclusively for providing the customer account.

If you consent to this processing, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR is the legal basis for the processing.

If the creation of the customer account also serves pre-contractual measures or contract fulfillment, the legal basis for this processing is also Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

You can withdraw your consent to the creation and maintenance of the customer account at any time with effect for the future according to Art. 7(3) GDPR. You only need to notify us of your withdrawal.

The data collected in this context will be deleted as soon as the processing is no longer necessary. However, we must observe tax and commercial retention periods.

Creditworthiness and Scoring Check

If we offer you the option of payment by invoice within our goods or services offer and you make use of this option, we reserve the right to obtain a credit report from a credit agency (such as Creditreform, Schufa, Bürgel, or infoscore) based on mathematical-statistical procedures. For this purpose, your data, as far as relevant for the contract, such as your name and address, will be forwarded to the credit agency. The subsequent information about the statistical probability of a payment default will be used for our decision on whether to offer you payment by invoice.

The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in the security of claims according to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Newsletter

If you sign up for our free newsletter, the data requested from you, such as your email address and, optionally, your name and address, will be transmitted to us. At the same time, we store the IP address of the internet connection from which you accessed our online presence, as well as the date and time of your registration. During the further registration process, we will obtain your consent to receive the newsletter, describe its content specifically, and refer to this privacy policy. The data collected in this context will be used exclusively for sending the newsletter – they will not be passed on to third parties.

The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

You can withdraw your consent to the newsletter subscription at any time with effect for the future according to Art. 7(3) GDPR. You only need to notify us of your withdrawal or use the unsubscribe link included in each newsletter.

Contact Inquiries / Contact Possibility

If you contact us via contact form or email, the data you provide will be used to process your inquiry. Providing this data is necessary for processing and answering your inquiry – without providing it, we may not be able to answer your inquiry or can only do so to a limited extent.

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Your data will be deleted once your inquiry has been answered and there are no legal retention obligations standing in the way of deletion, such as a subsequent contract execution.

User Contributions, Comments, and Reviews

We offer you the option to publish questions, answers, opinions, or reviews on our websites, hereinafter referred to as "contributions." If you take advantage of this offer, we will process and publish your contribution, the date and time of submission, as well as any pseudonym you may use.

The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future according to Art. 7(3) GDPR. You only need to notify us of your withdrawal.

In addition, we process your IP and email address. The IP address is processed because we have a legitimate interest in taking or supporting further steps if your contribution infringes on the rights of third parties and/or is otherwise unlawful.

Legal Basis in this Case

The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the potential need for legal defense.

Subscription to Posts

If you publish posts on our websites, we additionally offer you the option to subscribe to any subsequent posts by third parties. To inform you about these subsequent posts via email, we process your email address.

The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent to this subscription at any time with effect for the future according to Art. 7(3) GDPR. You only need to notify us of your withdrawal or use the unsubscribe link included in each email.

Online Job Applications / Publication of Job Advertisements

We offer you the opportunity to apply for jobs through our online presence. For these digital applications, your applicant and application data are collected and processed electronically by us to handle the application process.

The legal basis for this processing is § 26(1) Sentence 1 BDSG in conjunction with Art. 88(1) GDPR.

If an employment contract is concluded after the application process, we store the data you provided during the application in your personnel file for the purposes of the usual organizational and administrative processes – of course, while observing further legal obligations.

The legal basis for this processing is also § 26(1) Sentence 1 BDSG in conjunction with Art. 88(1) GDPR.

In the event of a rejection of an application, we automatically delete the data provided to us two months after the rejection notification. However, deletion does not occur if the data must be retained for a longer period due to legal provisions, e.g., due to the burden of proof under the AGG, which may require retention for up to four months or until the conclusion of a judicial process.

The legal basis in this case is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and § 24(1) No. 2 BDSG. Our legitimate interest lies in legal defense or enforcement.

If you explicitly consent to a longer retention of your data, e.g., for inclusion in a candidate or interest database, the data will be further processed based on your consent. The legal basis is then Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can, of course, withdraw your consent at any time according to Art. 7(3) GDPR by notifying us.

After redirecting the user, the respective network collects information about the user. It cannot be excluded that the processing of the collected data takes place in the USA.

These are initially data such as IP address, date, time, and visited page. The Google Analytics service is used to analyze the behavior of users on our website. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis, optimization, and economic operation of our website.

Usage and user-related information, such as IP address, location, time, or frequency of visits to our website, are transmitted to a server of Google in the USA and stored there. However, we use Google Analytics with the so-called anonymization function. Through this function, Google shortens the IP address within the EU or EEA.

The data collected in this way are then used by Google to provide us with an evaluation of the visit to our website as well as the activities on it. These data may also be used to provide additional services related to the use of our website and the internet.

The counting pixel is a graphic placed on our website that determines statistical metrics. This allows the calculation of the likelihood of text copying based on the number of visits and the specific content of our website. The data collection is anonymous. To capture access numbers and your possibly recurring visits, a so-called session cookie is either placed by your internet browser on your device or a signature created from various information of your browser (e.g., user agent, screen resolution, etc.) is used. However, your IP address is only processed in anonymized form. As an individual user, you are not identifiable at any time.

If you disagree with this processing, you have the option to prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting the settings in your internet browser. Further information can be found above under “Cookies.” Additionally, you have the option to end the SZM measurement through an opt-out. By confirming the link:

Google Maps

On our website, we use Google Maps to display our location and create directions. This is a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to as “Google.”
